The Wingers
The Wingers were formed in 2006 when Gil Pope had joined me on a gig at Perks and Corks in Westerly, RI. I had meet Gil at the Joyce open mike when I was running it and called him to play a Perks gig with me one night. Gil is an awsome singer and player. When Bryan, the owner at Perks heard us for the first time he asked what we called ourselves and we said "don't know, were just wingin' it". That's pretty much when we got our name and our start. Gil is now a great friend and we have performed together around a hundred nights in Rhode Island. This duo leans a little more towards the covers, country, and bluegrass, and is not as edgy as the Amazing Rhythm Mule (aka The Old Dogs) yet still full of great harmonies and instrumentals.
